I am currently working on my second book, “Narratives of Consequence: Law, Action, and the American Novel, 1877-1925.” My first book, Landschaft und Territorium: Amerikanische Literatur, Expansion und die Krise der Nation, 1784-1866, has been published with Wilhelm Fink in 2014, and my articles have appeared in Law & Literature, Leviathan: A Journal of Melville Studies, Early American Literature, Amerikastudien/American Studies, and ESQ: A Journal of the American Renaissance.
I currently teach at the Free University Berlin, and I have also held teaching and research positions at the University of Chicago, Goethe University Frankfurt, and the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder).
